One of the (many) advantages to living in the country is the opportunity afforded to hike out into your own yard and select a Christmas tree. The day after we arrived in Canada, that's just what we did! At dusk, we bundled up and trooped out in the yard to look for the most beautiful tree that was also growing in an amenable spot to being cut. Breha found the winner, and we "sacrificed it in the name of Christmas". It was the perfect start to our Christmas holiday!
